I Love Texture Kitchen Towels
Crochet Dish Towel Free Pattern
How about a crochet dish towel or hand towel as a wedding gift? Personally, I believe you can’t go wrong with gifting a crochet kitchen towel, whether it’s for a wedding, housewarming, or even as a last-minute present. Every home needs one—perfect for use as a hand towel in the bathroom or a dish towel in the kitchen. Plus, they’re quick and easy to make, making them ideal for those last-minute gifting needs.
I designed this crochet kitchen towel as a last-minute wedding gift after a frustrating experience with a delayed yarn order. For over a month, I checked my emails daily and made countless calls, only to receive an update explaining delays due to COVID-19 lockdowns. With just a week left before the wedding and no yarn in sight, I turned to my local store—thank goodness for reliable options close to home!
I grabbed Lily Sugar ’n Cream yarn from Joann and got to work. My goal was to create something quick, easy, yet thoughtful and practical for the couple. A crochet dish towel was the perfect choice. After all, who doesn’t appreciate quality crochet kitchen towels or hand towels? They’re a must-have for any home, especially for those who enjoy cooking and spending time in the kitchen.

These crochet kitchen towels are made using Sugar ’n Cream 100% Worsted Cotton Yarn. For this project, I chose a simple yet effective pattern featuring single and double crochet stitches. With limited time before the wedding, I knew this approach would help me:
Finish the making the dish towels quickly.
Create beautiful textured kitchen towels that are both functional and visually appealing.
The texture is perfect for soaking up water, and the yarn was a dream to work with, which helped me complete the towels efficiently. With the extra time saved, I even decided to make matching I Love Texture Potholders to complete the set.
I was thrilled to find yarn in colors that coordinated beautifully with the bride’s wedding theme. Thankfully, I finished the kitchen towels and potholders on time and was able to gift them to her on her special day.
Unfortunately, as of writing this, I still haven’t heard back from the yarn company regarding my original order. COVID-19 has truly impacted so many aspects of life, including delays in shipping. Despite the challenges, I’m grateful that this quick and thoughtful crochet hand towels turned out so well!
You can use any cotton yarn to make the towels with emphasize to 100% cotton.
